We hear every day that the 'credit crunch'--which refers to the scarcity of cheap capital for loans--is sapping the life out of the UK economy. But is it changing your life as a contractor?
In fact, we've seen some of the big banks write off billions in bad loans as a result of the crunch. But the financial services sector is still hiring more contractors than ever, and, believe it or not, paying them more. Nor is there any evidence that other sectors of the economy, apart from retail, are really suffering much.
But that's the view from the top. Here on the ground, where we all work, it might be different.
