Amid a worsening economic climate, the housing market is grinding to a halt – mortgage approvals for house purchases are down 64% on last year, with remortgages having fallen by 28% in the same period.
But according to Tony Harris of ContractorFinancials, there is light at the end of the tunnel, with lenders offering more deals to the right kind of borrower. There are also, he says, contractor-friendly products that recognise contractors are neither employees nor self employed.
