Have Your Say: Is it time for contractors to lead a tax rebellion?

IR35 Test

The Professional Contractors Group has recently highlighted what it sees as the government’s repeated failings to account for contractors, freelancer professionals and small businesses in the UK’s tax regime.

In the PCG report, serious questions are asked about the competence of HM Treasury and HMRC to set and fairly implement tax policy. There is even talk that contractors and other UK taxpayers are close to rebelling.

What do you think? Should our tax system be totally overhauled? Would you be prepared to withhold tax to show your displeasure at the tactics of HMRC and the Treasury?
