Have you ever had to relocate for your contracting? How did it go?

Did you find that it was worth all the trouble? Did it cost a great deal more than you expected, even allowing for tax advantages?

Was the rate that you obtained sufficient to make the move worthwhile? Relocation is a substantial disruption in your working and living, even if you only relocate to a second home for the days when you work on site.

So when it was all said and done, was relocation worthwhile? Or would you rather have stayed at home?

Sure. I moved from Bristol to London, simply because there was more work in London. Financial services is where the major dollars are in the contracting market - which means working int he City.
