In July 2008 the Treasury launched a new consultation into contractors travel expenses. The focus is on umbrella companies and employment agencies using overarching employment contracts.

Treasury strategy may be announced in the 2008 pre budget report, although most experts are predicting it will be early 2009 before we will understand in detail what form new legislation may take.
