Dear Contractor,
Welcome to the November 2008 edition of our Contractor Newsletter. Our recent survey on IR35 shows that many contractors are taking risks on their status - more so in light of the recent Dragonfly ruling. The European parliament passed the Agency Workers Directive with no opt-out for contractors, but with heavy lobbying of the UK Government we might see contractors excluded when implemented in the UK. Regarding the Treasury's potential attack on contractor expenses many sector groups have joined forces to combat what could be very damaging legislation.
